Donations received!! Packing almost done!! Kikamata here we come!!
Check back again soon as more pictures will be added during the trip!
Director, Dan Maki and his wife, Hazel will be traveling to the Democratic Republic of Congo to visit the children who are sponsored by Hope for Orphans-Congo. They will be bringing fourteen plastic bins full of items donated for the orphans, caregivers and orphanage. This is just a some part of the things that are being brought: solar lights, school supplies, vitamins, bandaids, antiseptic creams, thermometers, hats, shoes, books to start a library, Bibles, boots, glasses, gifts for the children, clothes, soccer balls, skipping ropes, beach balls and much, much more. While in the village, the Maki's will visit four schools-besides everything they collected for the orphaned children, they purchased and received as donations 2000 pencils!!! This means every child will receive one pencil each (extras will be given to headmasters). Each child will also receive one piece of chocolate...many have never had chocolate in their lives!!
A great BIG thank you to ALL the people who have donated items, money and time for the children in Kikamata!
