In May 2013, Dan Maki, one of the directors of the Canadian charity, Hope for Orphans-Congo, visited the children in the orphanage in Kikamata, DRC. The children were all very happy to see him and of course, the gifts he brought for them. They are all healthy and well. They feel so blessed to have three meals a day, a place to sleep, the opportunity to go to school, loving care and friendships!!
The musical instruments and new shirts for the children brought BIG Smiles!
All the instruments were donated by Pauline, a sponsor of one of the children. Steve's music donated 30 of the orange shirts. An 8-year old girl from Winnipeg designed and donated 24 of the white shirts, that portray a child from Canada and a child from Congo joining hands - to bring hope!
It was great to be with the children and give them the gifts others from Canada had donated for them!
Village children joined us for the meal!
About 30 children and adults from the surrounding area joined us on Saturday for the "celebration" meal.
